It has been a busy month for the Union on 6th team!
Right now, we’re setting up the tower crane at the West building and drilling piles for the temporary shoring so we can begin excavation of the below grade parking. Shoring is a form of prop or support, usually temporary, that is used during the repair or original construction of buildings and in excavations. In this case, we will use the shoring to support the earth and prevent collapse will we dig to create space for the underground parking.
We have also poured footings, started stem walls and started underground plumbing at the East building.
We recently hosted a community event providing a construction update plugging in the community to what they can expect as construction continues and proving them with an outlet to communicate questions and concerns. We’re planning to host these community construction updates every two weeks, with more information coming soon!
